Utilizing Webmaster Tools to Monitor your links

Webmaster Tools has a bunch of great features every web master can utilize when monitoring the communication of your website with search engines.  One way to monitor the health of your website is the communications you have with other websites.  It is no secret that Google can only display your dedicated pages or website to it’s end users based on how well they can trust your information as something of use to its searchers.  Google does this by following links to other sites that are communicating with you. backlinks In Google Webmaster tools you can see the sites your communicating with through its “links to your site” drop down feature.  Within this section google will list all of the pages that are linking to your website.  It will also categorize the links whether they are Internal links coming from other referring pages on your website or whether is’s an External link coming from another site you may be a Guest Blogger for, created a contextual or web 2.o.  It’s important to monitor these backlinks because, as mentioned before your only as valuable to Google as how trusted you can be so, if you are communicating with other trusted entities you can also be trusted by Google.

Why Internal pages linking in your Website are important.

You website is a powerhouse of  information the you know is valuable to your customers.  So when you have an opportunity to refer another page within your site to an existing page on your site for more information you should do so.  Especially if it’s very relevant to your topic for instance This blog is a blog about Monitoring your backlinks using webmaster tools.  Well, webmaster tools can only be utilized if you have a website.  Websites are good information for search engines and Search Engines are used by consumers looking for the search engines to direct them to whatever they are searching for.  In Conclusion, If I’m talking about webmaster tools, webmaster tools has to do Internal Linkswith web sites and websites appear in search engines then referencing a SEO Company Dallas for good ON-Page SEO advice would benefit the blog and help Google understand what my topic is and how this topic is relevant to my main topic of the blog.   You can find all of  internal links and what pages they are referencing from on the left hand column of webmaster tools right under links to your site. It’s always as good practice to go back to your existing pages and see if there is an area where you can refer to other information on your website.   Not to mention, to keep this practice in mind when you are going to start creating additional pages for your website.  If you going to be giving your audience new information to digest consider the structure of your new page, the topic and section off that page into sub-topics where you may be able to break off onto another page where assisting infromation lies.

Don’t forget that all practices manipulative can end up really harming what your over all Search Engine Optimization efforts.  What it always comes down to is continual hard work.  Don’t cut the corners.  Buying links or getting on a blog network, etc can have reverse effects.  Don’t get me wrong I’m a big fan of Black Hat/Gray Hat type of methods but, those types of marketing are just to easily found these days and algorithms have entire teams working on how to spot that type of work easily.  This is were webmaster tools can play a big role in telling you what your linking with.  Be sure to get a good idea of what your anchor and overall backlink profile looks likes by utilizing Google webmaster tools to monitor your backlinks.
