Often new Online Marketers will ask themselves why they haven’t reached page one top position yet.  Regularly this question will pop into the mind prematurely. Normally around 30 to 60 days after they have started their SEO campaign.  I know, it’s a microwave mentality and if the deliverable isn’t immediate the trusted entity assigned to this task is either a scumbag, a liar or simply incompetent.   Nevertheless, let me ask you, have you allowed your SEO campaign in 2014 the necessary time to work for you?    Right off the bat, if you’re going to be a successful organic marketer we’d like to express 4 things that are vital to your success when you start search engine optimization.

1) Build to Last!    SEO in 2014 Over time, search engine optimization will be the organization’s long sustaining business with ad’s that run 24/7 unlike paid search.

2) Have the Everyday mindset.    Don’t waste a day to improve on what exists already.  Did you ask someone to like, share or comment on one of your content marketing pieces?(Your Social Signal footprint is vital)  Did you create something  for a new discussion topic?(Content Creation and Distribution is how you get recognized)  Have you identified any new areas where you can make a solid digital connection?(Linking, when done correctly, hands down , on record the experts say that this is THE or one of THE most important things to do in SEO in 2014

3) Understand Top placement results DO NOT happen overnight.   The day after you hire a professional Texas SEO your business  WILL NOT become the #1 listing on the first page of the search engines.   There isn’t a tip, trick, snake oil or gimmick that will produce those types of SEO results.

4) Your never done building.  For the sake of numerous analogies, let’s liken SEO to constructing a building.  First, A baseline gets set, the foundation is laid, then the exterior is erected, interior, etc.  After many months of preparation and hard work there is noticeable progress.  From a bird’s eye view it will look probably look pretty dang good to.  Multiple times the natural overwhelming emotion is a sense of pride and great achievement.  It truly is an amazing accomplishment that should be celebrated BUT, it’s not finished yet.   The funny thing is it never will be done because, after the building is complete there is still the backyard, the front yard, installation of the pool, a parking lot, the road to the parking lot, etc.  The trick to not getting defeated by the process but to celebrate the successes along the way.  So let’s take a look at some progression for a year’s worth of work.

If they were to give up on their SEO efforts a few months into the SEO Campaign, you’ll notice from the chart that would have been a mistake.

Let’s take this strategy into perspective.  We have a Dallas Based company who is in need of a new Dallas Web Design Company This is a U.S. Based National company that offers services to the world.  Starting out the main focus here is to rank for citywide within their state market to build authority of their overall website.   Short Term many, non-competitive, local to their physical location and just outside of their immediate city terms were able to appear first page within a couple of months.  Also, some more competitive city markets are making progress on page 2 or 3.

QUICK THOUGHT:   Hypothetically speaking, let’s say you own a National company that sold generators.  Your physical location is in Carrollton, TX but, you want a Carrollton SEO and you have very limited budget to market online.   Is it best that you focus on national business first or dominate your immediate surroundings?  QUICK THOUGHT

Obviously, the low hanging fruit will support the financial needs of the company but, long term growth is further statewide reach and national exposure.   A big part of the long term goals, with the above featured graph, is the ROI that will come from an extended audience.   Which after many months and continual authority building some of their long term goal queries are starting to appear 6+ months into the campaign.

Why isn’t SEO an Immediate Gratification?

Trust.  These search engine’s ultimate goal is to give their users a great user experience.  They can NOT do that until you fulfill all of their prerequisites a.k.a. huge algorithm.   So, all the social votes, all the proper coding and all of the exterior communication through blogging, guest blogging, article submission’s, other web properties create this “necessary” data search engines will crawl to determine  trust.  It’s as common as trust in our everyday lives.  For Instance, take a trip to the store.  Why, is it that a consumer chose’s a particular orange juice over the other orange juice brands?   Price, taste, look of marketing, etc?  Whatever that initial reason is, it’s almost certain that if the consumer enjoys the orange juice, the consumer won’t even think twice about getting into the debate anymore.   They’ll just pick the juice right off the shelf because, they can trust it.

After the Building Experience Gains Trust What can you expect?

This is another beauty about strategic SEO campaigns.  Once a website has built authority and is a trusted source for valuable information to a Search Engine’s end user other information produced will be well respected immediately.  We recently discussed this exact phenomenon in an article we titled “How I ranked a page of my website in just 5 days”.   At the end of the day, trust doesn’t happen overnight, build and gain more trust every day you can and never stop.
